About the role
At Seek, Senior BI Developers go beyond crafting data-driven user experiences—they lead strategy, mentor teams, and shape the long-term vision for analytics innovation within our platform. In this advanced role, you’ll collaborate closely with data science, engineering, and product leaders to ensure scalable, best-in-class analytics solutions that empower thousands of businesses worldwide. You’ll also assume responsibility for guiding partners and developers, leveraging your deep expertise to refine analytics apps and expand the reach and value of our platform.
What you'll be doing
Deliver compelling BI solutions: Design and implement business intelligence and data visualization apps that offer an intuitive, user-focused experience.
Craft dashboard solutions with best-in-class design: Ensure embedded BI dashboards adhere to guiding design principles, delivering an attractive, frictionless user experience.
Lead partner collaborations: Partner with customers to define requirements—such as target audience, market needs, key metrics, data sources, and user workflows—and orchestrate tailored, high-impact demos.
Drive discovery and planning: Uncover opportunities for new analytics apps by researching target audiences, market demands, and data-driven use cases.
Integrate and model data: Onboard new data sources, design data structures, and transform datasets into curated models that power advanced analytics.
Document and communicate requirements: Clearly outline data sources, models, and business logic to align final deliverables with intended outcomes and user needs.
Validate and refine solutions: Review, test, and iterate on analytics apps to ensure quality before they’re distributed on Seek’s app store.
Elevate Organizational Analytics Strategy: Advocate for best practices in data governance, security, and compliance; identify and champion scalable architectures and automation; influence the analytics roadmap by collaborating with engineering and product teams; and advise on tool selection and architecture decisions for future growth.
Mentor and lead other developers: Provide technical leadership, conduct code and design reviews, and facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions to foster continuous improvement across the BI team.
Requirements
7+ years of BI experience in a customer-facing technical role: Demonstrated success in solutions engineering, consulting, or technical sales, with substantial end-to-end BI delivery experience.
Deep expertise in data visualization and UX/UI design principles: Skilled in creating scalable, intuitive BI solutions that prioritize user experience, using at least one major BI tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or preferably Sigma Computing).
Clear communicator: Able to present and explain complex data and analytics concepts to diverse audiences.
Dimensional modeling knowledge: Comfortable designing fact/dimension tables and employing best practices for schema management, data transformation techniques, and optimization at scale.
Robust SQL skills: Fluent in writing efficient queries, joins, and transformations; able to optimize performance on large-scale datasets.
Cloud data warehouse experience: Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.
Builder mindset: Motivated to document, templatize, and automate processes, ensuring scalability and repeatability.
Technical leadership: Capable of influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels, setting standards for data modeling, visualization design, and performance optimization.
Preferred Experience
Working with Snowflake in a production environment.
Familiarity with data and analytics use cases in consumer goods, retail, supply chain, marketing, or financial services.
Experience leading complex BI projects from ideation to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
