About the role

As the Director of Data & Analytics at Seek, you will lead and inspire a team of highly skilled Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers who are dedicated to building cutting-edge analytics applications for our customers and partners. You will be responsible for driving the development and deployment of advanced machine learning models and data visualizations, ensuring that our analytics apps meet the highest standards of performance, scalability, and user experience. This role requires a visionary leader with deep expertise in data science and analytics engineering, coupled with strong business acumen and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. Your contributions will directly influence the performance and scalability of our analytics applications, ensuring that Seek remains at the forefront of innovation in the analytics app space.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and develop a team of data scientists and analytics engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture 

  • Oversee the end-to-end development of advanced analytics apps, from ideation to deployment, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements 

  • Drive recruitment, retention, and professional growth of top talent within the data and analytics team 

  • Define and execute the strategic vision for data science and analytics at Seek, aligning with the company’s overall business objectives 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including product, engineering, and business teams to identify and prioritize analytics app development opportunities 

  • Architect and design scalable, high-performance data processing workflows and machine learning pipelines that meet the demands of large-scale analytics apps 

  • Develop and implement standards, best practices, and technological frameworks that optimize the team’s efficiency and ensure the robustness of our analytics solutions 

  • Serve as a key technical advisor during sales and partner meetings, showcasing Seek’s data science and analytics capabilities and driving adoption of our platform 

  • Ensure clear documentation and communication of all analytics workflows, models, and processes to facilitate collaboration and reproducibility 

  • Drive continuous improvement in data processing workflows, model development, and app performance through rigorous testing, validation, and optimization 

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics engineering, or a related field, with at least 4+ years in a leadership or managerial role, overseeing technical teams 

  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with deep experience in machine learning libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data engineering tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) 

  • Strong expertise in cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift) and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Sigma Computing) 

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable systems and architectures for data processing, machine learning, and analytics applications 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team of data scientists and analytics engineers, including hiring, performance management, and professional development 

  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to align technical projects with broader business goals and drive the execution of complex initiatives 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners 

  • Experience in managing project timelines, resources, and budgets to deliver high-quality analytics solutions on time and within scope 

  • Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills, with the ability to navigate and resolve complex technical and managerial challenges 

  • A strong track record of driving innovation in data science and analytics, continuously seeking opportunities to improve systems, processes, and team efficiency 

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field; a Master’s degree or higher is preferred
