About the role
Analytics Engineers at Seek play a crucial role on our team by crafting user experiences for our customers to interact with data and core business insights within apps on our platform. You will help our customers and partners build, launch, and distribute new apps on Seek’s analytics app store for businesses. You'll work closely with our data scientists and ML engineers to identify strong use cases for app development, onboard new datasets, and create business intelligence solutions and data visualizations that create core insights for thousands of businesses through turnkey analytics apps in CPG, retail, supply chain, marketing, financial services, and many more.
What you'll be doing
Creating business intelligence and data visualization solutions that serve as the core user experience and exploration for advanced analytics apps within our platform
Serve as a technical / solutions lead during the sales calls, aligning Seek’s capabilities with potential customer and partner needs to facilitate tailored, impactful demonstrations
Collaborate with customers and partners to identify use cases for new analytics apps
Lead discovery to capture analytics app requirements including target audience, market analysis, key metrics, data sources, and user workflows
Onboard new data sources, design data structures, clean and integrate data sets into curated data models to power advanced ML applications at scale
Clearly document and communicate the functional (and non-functional) app requirements such as data sources, ML models, data manipulation techniques, and any specific business logic or calculations so that final implementation aligns with the intended use case and business needs
Assist in the review, testing and validation of analytics apps built and distributed on the app store
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on business intelligence experience, working in a customer-facing technical role (solutions engineering, consulting or technical sales)
Deep expertise designing and creating scalable business intelligence and data visualization solutions, using at least one of the major BI tools available (Tableau, PowerBI, or preferably Sigma Computing)
Clear communication style with the ability to explain and present complex data and analytics solutions to customers and partners
Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling: fact vs. dimension tables, normalization vs. denormalization, surrogate keys, slowly changing dimensions (SCD), pivot / unpivot operations, and data transformation techniques
Advanced SQL skills: joins, subqueries, window functions, common table expressions (CTEs), aggregations, complex string manipulations, stored procedures and functions
Cloud data warehouse experience such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery
Must have a builder mindset. Innate desire to document, templatize, automate and define a process around everything you do that is repeatable and set up for scale
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent technical experience
Preferred Experience
Experience with Snowflake cloud data warehousing
Python for data engineering techniques (Pandas, NumPy, dbt or PySpark)
Experience with data and analytics business use cases in consumer goods, retail, supply chain, marketing or financial services
